Position Summary

 

  • Please note we are hiring for these roles Angolan Nationals only who possess in date Qualified IRATA Level 3 certification**To ensure that all rope access activities are planned, supervised and carried out safely, efficiently and effectively in accordance with company, statutory regulations and approved codes of practice.

    Functions

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Essential

      • Support on going personal competence requirements.
      • Maintain a rope access equipment inventory, ensuring that the equipment is fit for purpose and certification is kept up to date.
      • Plan rope access activities, generate method statements and rescue plans.
      • Ensure that all pre task control of work documentation is in place, communicated and adhered to.
      • Supervise and direct rope access personnel and operations.
      • Ensure works sites and equipment are left in an appropriate condition, between shifts, end of shifts and at rotational handovers.
      • Provide support and mentoring to developing RA technicians and Nationalision programs
      • Maintain rope access logs and records
      • Maintain open and active communication with Functional Manager – participate in sharing bulletins and lessons learned, roll out company procedural up dates.
      • Ensure compliance with the company Integrated Management System (IMS) and Business Management System (BMS)
      • Develop strong client relationships and be an advocate for Oceaneering

    Non-essential

    Eliminate Cost of Poor Quality and waste, in whatever form, suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to continuous improvement.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

      • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.

    Reporting Relationship

      • Reporting to Operations Manager.
      • Offshore Inspection Engineer directs the work or participates in defining the day-to-day work.

    Required

    Qualifications

      • In date Qualified IRATA Level 3
      • In date OPITO O&G offshore medical
      • 4 years of related experience in offshore rope access environments at supervisory level
      • NDT Qualifications (3 of) – VT, MT, RT, PT, ET.
      • Basic Radiation Safety

    DESIRED

      • Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
      • UK Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST)
      • IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH General Certificate/Oceaneering HSE Supervisor

    Working Conditions

    This position is considered OFFSHORE which is characterized as follows.

      • Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.
      • Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
      • Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels and the light is intense/glare.
      • Requires working in very hot (above 30 degrees Celsius) conditions
      • Exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases. Includes exposure to contaminants/chemicals
      • Work surface may be unstable, height is elevated.
      • Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions

    Physical Activity/Requirements

    This position is considered MEDIUM work.

    • Lift 10 – 20 Kgs
    • Work in confined spaces, kneel, jump, run, work while lying on stomach/back, crawl, and use repetitive movements of the arms and hands.
    • Identify color differences
    • Wear PPE for skin protection
    • Lift 5 -10 KGs
    • Climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects
    • Twist body, sit with back supported, head forward/flexed, head tilted/rotated, and work with arms extended overhead.
    • Operate a motor vehicle – Not in country
    • Lift up to 5 Kgs
    • Wear PPE protection for body, vision, and hearing protection
